Discover Wisconsin Declares Oshkosh A 2015 Choice Destination, OSHKOSH FEATURED ON TV SHOW DISCOVER WISCONSIN MAY 30-31,

OSHKOSH, Wis., May 29, 2015 – The city of Oshkosh will be featured on the TV show Discover Wisconsin in the “O The Things You’ll See-Oshkosh” episode May 30-31. It will premiere May 30 at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports North and 6:30 p.m. on WFRV 5.

 

The episode will play across the Midwest, reaching more than 500,000 viewers across the upper Great Lakes region including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois and Upper Michigan. The program was produced in partnership with theOshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB).

 

“We are excited to have Oshkosh featured on Discover Wisconsin,” said Wendy Hielsberg, executive director of the OCVB. “What a great way to showcase our riverwalk, trail system and waterways!”

 

Mariah Haberman and Collin Geraghty hosted the episode, featuring the Riverwalk, several restaurants (including Beckets) and a Waterfest concert at the Leach Amphitheater.

 

Geraghty explored fishing spots at Lake Butte des Morts and Lake Winnebago. Hiking along the new WIOUWASH Trail was also explored. The show highlights the Midwest’s largest ice fishing tournament, Battle on Bago.

 

Haberman visited Downtown Oshkosh shops, such as Atomic Katz, Caramel Crisp & Café and Trillium Salon.

“As a UW-Oshkosh alumna, this community will always hold a very special place in my heart,” Haberman said. “I discovered neat places and fun activities (and plenty of great restaurants), many of which I had not experienced as a student, despite living here for four years! The opportunity to return to Oshkosh to film for the show reminded me of just how diverse and unique this city really is. We are thrilled to include Oshkosh among our 2015 Choice Destinations.”

 

Discover Wisconsin is the nation’s longest-running tourism program and can be seen statewide on Fox Sports North (FSN) Saturdays at 10 a.m.
