DePawsitory’s owners are Appleton natives, and mother/daughter duo, Ali & Laurie Koestner. Their family consists of Ali (daughter), Laurie (mother), Frank (Great Dane), Solo (Mastiff), Pete (Shih Tzu-Pu), Trixie (Maltipoo), Billy (Quarter Horse), Emmie (Orange Tabby), & the Ecosystem (saltwater tank). From guinea pigs to horses and everything in between, They have declared to have always had a passion for pets.

When Shop Local asked the duo what prompted them to start their business, Ali excitedly replied, “To spoil our pets and everyone else’s! We wanted to have a place that offers fun, unique, locally made items that you won’t find anywhere else, and are practical for every pet owners. I am also an avid supporter of local businesses it’s what makes our community unique.”

These owners say they are excited about their work because, “Each day there is something new to learn and experience – a smiling face or a wagging tail that stops by, about being a business owner, and about ourselves. “Vince Lombardi [Ali is a die-hard Packer fan] once said, ‘If you’ll not settle for anything less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in your lives.’ I never want to stop learning.”

“We’re just so excited to embark (pun intended) on this journey and see where it takes us. In addition to our pets, we’re also passionate about giving back to our community. Our ‘Re-Tail’ section allows us to take donations of gently used pet items, such as clothing, beds, toys, and so on which we re-sell and donate proceeds from those sales to local rescue and shelter non-profits.
