The pumpkin-carving and decorating will be open to the public. Just bring your own pumpkins, pumpkin-carving & decorating tools and prepare to create a pumpkin masterpiece! Participants can feel free to let their creativity show – pumpkins can be carved, painted, sculpted – any type of decoration is fair game! The event will take place at the Pines Shelter, off the north end of the NEW Zoo’s main parking lot. If you are unable to bring your own pumpkins, you are still welcome to attend. Each year, the NEW Zoo does receive some donations of pumpkins that can be carved by guests during the event!
The NEW Zoo will provide FREE PIZZA AND SODA to everyone who participates in the
event. Groups, such as scout groups, church service groups, as well as families and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend. Of course, individuals can attend as well!
All pumpkins decorated during the event will be used to decorate the zoo in preparation for our largest fundraising event of the year: North Shore Bank Zoo Boo. Zoo supporters are also welcome to drop off any pumpkins carved off-site ANYTIME during regular business hours on weekdays during October, starting October 10th. The NEW Zoo is continually in need of “fresh” pumpkins throughout the month of October to replace rotting pumpkins and decorate the facility.
