Welcome! I am Simone; a wife; mother of four beautiful children; and a maker of all things crafty. I enjoy learning many different art forms, and I am always up for a challenge of learning something new. I have taught myself how to sew, bake and decorate cake pops and cakes, construct various paper crafts, and most recently am learning the art of resin and tumbler making.
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Although I was almost thirteen when we moved, I still have such fond memories of my time growing up there and wanted to incorporate my South African roots into my logo and name of my business. Umenzi Designs was created in late 2015 as a way for me to share some of my creativity with others. Umenzi translated from Zulu means “maker” or “doer.”
Elephants also happen to be my favorite animal. Within many of the African cultures, the elephant is a symbol of strength and power. My goal when creating and designing products is to portray that feeling of strength and power to others. Thus, the elephant as a focal point in the logo.

I do not offer any refunds or returns due to the custom nature of the products. If, upon receiving the item, there is a problem with the item, please contact me within 7 days and I will do my best to come to a mutual resolution. *Due to the handmade nature of each item, there may be some minor imperfections. I take care to minimize these imperfections as much as possible. I also inspect each item before it is sent to the customer.
I currently offer free shipping with the contiguous U.S.
Once the item has shipped, I will provide you with a tracking number to the email provided. There may be some delays. Please be patient. If there is any damage, please file a claim with the shipping carrier. Retain all your boxes and take pictures of the damage to help with your claim. All packages are mailed insured.

Shipment processing time
All orders are custom and will be processed within 2-3 business days. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays.
*If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
**Please allow additional processing time for custom orders. The estimated time of completion will be provided to you when details are received on the customization. Umenzi Designs will make every effort to complete the order within the estimated time frame.
Shipping rates & delivery estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
*Delivery delays can occasionally occur.
Shipment confirmation & Order tracking
You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). The tracking number will be active within 24 hours.
Customs, Duties and Taxes
Umenzi Designs is not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.).
Damages
Umenzi Designs is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. If you received your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim.

International Shipping Policy
We currently do not ship outside the U.S.
Due to the custom and handmade nature of the products, I do not accept returns or offer refunds. In the event that there is a problem with the tumbler or product upon receiving it, you may contact me at simone@umenzidesigns.com within 7 days and I will do my best to help with a resolution. The items are custom made and may contain minor imperfections, but every effort is made to not have any.
